It was a wet and damn freezing cold Saturaday morning
And when I mean damn freezing cold
It equates to me shivering while drenched with water from
head to toe plus icy wind blowing directly at me
But I cant possibly turn down the invitation from my 师父
Who specially called me up to turn up for trainings
and the actual race itself
This is my 师父 Mr Henry Choo
With the Captain's armband too!

He is like one of my closer mentor back then in EM days
Owed almost everything I learnt in the industry to him and
other mentors (of cuz!) back in EM
This is him getting the signature team tattoo in the form of
a " D-R-A-G-O-N " before both of our teams qualifying heats
There was even free instant photo development services provided
In addition to the free flow of food and drinks and games
Haha! Power!
The most ownage part was the almost UNLIMITED Red Bull
Crazy stuff!
This was the team of Mulan & Hercules
Led by Henry
Before moving out for the qualifying heats
This is the team I was on - " S1 Dragon "
Led by Mr Choo Wee Hong
Giving us a moral-boosting pep talk before the heats as well
Both the teams sent out earned the auto qualification to proceed on
Thus saving an energy sapping Rapid Charge series with the runners-up
Mulan & Hercules finished 2nd
While we finished 1st!
Totally D-E-S-T-R-O-Y-E-D the competition
in our qualifying heats
I knew we went for the last charge even
though there wasnt a need to
And the 2nd boat came in behind us with a 7 second deficit
Quite fierce hur!
Drew unnecessary attention from the rival teams
with our timing too

I remember these was taken from our semi-finals cuz
Henry was egging Evon to smile at the camera as we set off

The water was quite choppy already
And the condition was very bad
So the boat was like rocking left and right non-stop
Luckily we managed to pumped the boat up from the first ten strokes
Thus not getting entangled by the rivals water waves
And yes we qualified for the GRAND FINALS by finishing 1st!
Nearly didnt qualified though
HAHA!
Near miss sia~! Phew!

we WON the GRAND FINALS in style!
By a mere margin of 0.2 seconds
Totally inched it by the skin of the teeth
Phew~!
Just check out the timings on the scoreboard itself
The top 3 teams for the GRAND FINALS all finished within
1 second of each other
That's how close it was!!!
Heard from the rest that we were actually LOSING from the start
Were ranked 3rd till the last 100m.....
.... Thats when we switched on our......
turbocharger and nitrous engine
(With 2 big guys in the form Brandon and Douglas at the back
it wasnt a big issue of cuz!)
And at the corner of our eyes
We saw the correct moment for the last charge
And we pumped all 120% into the final few strokes
Thus overcoming the odds and winning the big one!
The feeling was MEGA SHIOK!
Like eatting mega Mcspicy double that kind of feeling
Woots~!
There was even photographers waiting for us to come on shore

All in all.....
A great day for adrenaline pumping action in the waters
Soaked and drenched with rain and seawater
The feeling of being triumphant and victorious
In additon to being champion and receiving the Gold medal
Together doing the same team sports
With people of different age groups but similar goal
Makes the aching shoulders and sore butt cheeks worth it
That's the best part of doing team sports
And winning together with a team effort
