Stuff I got back from HK!
Woohoo~!
=DDD
Spent $800 Sing Dollars in all
$150 for a Longchamp bag
(SG sell it for $220 I heard, mad discount price!)
So overall only spent $650 for myself
Total trip plus accomo and plane tix, plus DFS alcohol
All sums up to around $1k ba, at most $1.1k
($100 plus on alcohol already.....)
Anw learnt some lessons from the Perth trip the other time round
Not gonna upload every Tom, Dick and Harry's photos per day
Just gonna upload like whatever highlights
And leave captions here and there
The rest will just leave it to your imagination then!
In addition
This trip is a 1st for a lot of things for me
First time travelling to countries w/o Adrian and Co.
(my poly friends)
First time booked air tix with my own visa card
(scared the Internet screwed me)
First time taking overseas photos with my own DSLR!
(totally rocks!)
First time planned so thoroughly for the itinerary for this HK trip
(well, did all the research and whatnot myself, normally is done together with Adrian and Co.)
First time travelling in odd numbers (3)
And lastly, first time never lose my first time there
HAHA!
Ok the last one is rubbish, ignore me please
Landed and reached HK international airport at around 1045
This totally looks like the Tanya Chua album cover photo
Well, their airport looks vaguely similar to ours...
Their super cool train from the airport to link up with the other train stations elsewhere
And then the 2nd one is their actual MTR train's insides
(ours is called MRT theirs is MTR)
So we pulled our luggage along, all these while in the MTR
And reached Prince Edward Station
Where our hotel, Newton Kowloon Hotel is located at
Of cuz, we did some topo here and there before getting there
Army guys, learn some useful skills and put them into practical use
Somemore cost-saving leh!
=)
After done with the checking-in and some administrative matters
We were already hungry for lunch
So got some directions from the hotel's concierge
(well, Ding Feng spoke in Canto and a whole lot of things became easier)
In HK, I learnt something...
You can NEVER go wrong with the local dim sum
They are ownage shit!
Like each char siew pao is a monster kill and whatnot
(check out the honey-glazed bun in the 1st picture
its a char siew pao for god's sake!)
Their har kau has like 3 or 4 prawns inside
And their chee cheong fun is like WTF nice!
The local culture is sharing tables with other customers
While the waitress/waiter change the table cloth simultaneously
Each half by each half
(if in SG, the customers will give you the black face already)
And the uncles/aunties sure like their yum cha session
with newspapers
They can sit there, eat a bit, read some news, then carry on eating
Cool!
After the delicious lunch, we made our way to Central
Which is also like their CBD area
But somehow the sight turned out to be like Lucky Plaza there
We were like stunned to see so many Philippine ppl there
Machiam like excursion or outing there
Well, nonetheless, we made our way uphill
(through the towering skyscrapers in the CBD area)
And I mean really walk damn slanted all the way up to board the Peak Tram
To make our way to The Peak aka 太平山顶
Amazing view up there
Pity the haze was quite bad
Blocked a lot of nice landscape shots
Sianz 1/2~!
=(
Well, we toured the area and then made our way to Madame Tussauds HK
Anw this is Jay Chou
(look so not like him, and the girl is Jon's fave, he sneaked MORE than a couple of shots of her)
Quite pretty lah I admit
8-pec!
Idol! Andy Lau is MAX handsome!
Edison Chen!
Ayumi is ♥!
Local Singapore Ah Beng
One with the signature Geylang Lorong Ah Beng squat among the British royalty
The other with the half-F attitude in front of US telecast of the President's Speech
Jon like Saddam!
Helloooooo Sir!
Helloooo! You need a helping hand, Mr Gandhi?
Looks like 飞猫!
HAHAHA! Oops sorry Mr Mao
Well, no one understand what Shakespeare wrote.....
I tried telling him that lah
Morning Sir!
志玲姐姐 is ♥!
Well, Yao Ming is seriously damn freakish tall!
I got jumped ok?
(got air underneath my shoes hor!)
If he jumped in real life I think I cant even see the ring
Jon did a better job though!
Haha!
Now you know why Becks didnt make it to the World Cup.....
Classic studs-up above knee sliding tackle and the so-called "tackle from behind"
Ok, we dont know why he wasnt included....
Tiger!
Good putt there!
LOL!
Plenty of holes you filled up with your balls these few years right?
(golf ball or whatnot)
*wink wink*
Jon is shy with Twins
Oh come on Gillian is not so shy, why are you?
LOL!
*cough cough*
And we end off a mad 2 hours+ inside with 梅艳芳 as the last wax figure
Phew~!
Totally exhausted after all that
After a Mac dinner
(sadly no local delights up there)
We wanted to catch the Symphony of Lights laser show on top of the Sky Terrace
Well, apparently it was cancelled or something
Plenty of ppl on top at the Sky Terrace
But anw the night view is WTF out of this world
Made for the camera totally
DSLR though
LOL!
And yes the haze cleared up a bit, making everything much better
:)
And so we made our way back....
A damn damn long walk back to the lower grounds
Kinda shagged and not feasible to bring a girl there
LOL!
Ok
We concluded to have a dating experience there
Must choose a girl who is willing to walk the long distance
If not sure die!
But walking the long distance is definitely worth it
:)
And yes, we end off the day by making our way back
With stomachs hungry once again
We pop by a local wanton mee stall
And hell it was good!
Local delight is good for the taste buds!
The wanton is freaking big
Multiply by 2 or 3 times of SG's wanton size
And throw in 2 or 3 fresh prawns
And the clear soup + the QQ noodles
Supper has never been that great!
And so.... we end off 香港之旅 Day 1
And a video I uncovered...
I.WANT.TO.BE.A.CABI.BOY!!!
But first need to lose another 10kg
Lock myself in the gym
Have wheat bread, protein and chicken breast for meals
Then if all else fails, go for plastic surgery
=x
(to think I'm clocking running distance of
more than 40-50km per month
Where's the 6-pecs man?!
All I have are some creaking knees now.....
Haiz....
All the siew mai, har kau, daan tart, duck/goose meat,
and 杨枝甘露......
Well, CABI BOY DREAMS dashed!
Save the knees, save myself first)
And yes this song - The Cabi Song
Totally ringing in my head now
Saw this video somewhere
And I thought I won't be sucked into the Korean K-pop wave
(I'm still not sucked into it)
Oh well, now I know why so many guys like SNSD
compared to Wonder Girls
SNSD got more flavours
HAHA!
Oh well, Yoona is the only member I recognize
The rest all looked too similar
And yes she is way HOT-T in the video!
Double T's for too hot!
;)
Still not buying the SNSD trick
Still sane ah
Not bad not bad
:)
