Marina Barrage & Helix Outdoor Shoot

Some photos from the Marina Barrage
And subsequent The Helix outdoor shoot

Some neat trick I'm still learning out
On making certain statues portray a realistic view
Like this one above
Giving a feel of dropping the iron ball on the viewer below

I thought this was good
With the clouds in the bluish sky
And the artsy-fartsy sculpture behind
The man on the Earth globe and stuff
Quite powerful
One of my personal favourite
:)

The different views of the MBS

Plenty of couples taking their bridal/wedding photos at Barrage
We took this time to try to get some shots
Expand portfolios
:)

Only the couple doing the heart-shape thingy pose
The bride didnt have any tattoo on her
The rest of the 4 or 5 brides we saw
They all have a tattoo here or there somewhere
LOL!

Didnt know nowadays ppl quite happening sia!
Makes me wanna go get one soon too!

This shot once got it on the viewfinder
Knew something good was captured
Its just the very strong gut feeling
:)

The clouds were awesome
Stormy as described
I like that!

The sun was just a bright red-orange glow in the sky
And the silhouette of the city skyline
Encapsulating the Flyer and reflect the SG river as well
Throw in it as a slanted photo
Pee-woo-wee~!
=D

I know this shot is very very familiar
But as what Gladys has mentioned
We both know thousands of ppl have taken this exact same shot
But somehow we still have to do it
Its like this evil magnetic force
Pushing and shoving us, forcing us to take this exact same photo

Actually The Helix part
You dont really feel awed by the design itself
And of cuz that itself is a very morale-dropping effect

But somehow as I look through the photos again
They do look good
Especially since we have explore almost every single angle on the bridge itself
Trying to find some way
To stand out from others
And not take duplicating photos which others may have already did

The bridge has too much ppl
Very difficult to take photos
Challenging indeed
But the crowd starts to dwindle after 10?
Which is quite late

Nonetheless
I feel it does add plenty of points to the SG night view
Beautiful indeed
Will love to take my time again
Stroll it through again
See the bridge changes colour every now and then
With the lights dimming and brightening routinely
Feel the breeze
See the Fullerton side as well

All in all
I thought this photoshoot trip was very rewarding
Plenty of good photos
And learn plenty of concepts and techniques too
A great opportunity for me to hone my
editing skills on Photoshop CS4!
Starting shooting using Manual mode as well
Moving away from Shutter and Aperture already
Just need more practice getting the right shutter speed and f stop values
All in an instant
That will be........quite shiok?
=)

Next up
.............Henderson Waves?
Sunset timings and some night shots as well?
Or.........MBS Skypark?
Or..........RWS?
Maybe try the free one first lah!
;)
