Carl Zeiss Photo Contest 2010

Carl Zeiss Photo Contest 2010
is a photo contest which I chanced upon
I think it was somewhat through Facebook or something
Facebook is scary stuff
You can find many many interesting stuff there

Anyways all the photos were voted by the Flickr community
And here are some which I managed to showcase here
Credits to all the photographers
No evil intention of using them as my credit or anything
And yes, here's the website
http://www.flickr.com/photos/carlzeisslenses/galleries/72157625902923708/

Rank #2

Steel casting and mill works in Pakistan

I thought this was damn excellent!
The lighting and shadows
Plus the red-hot iron on the floor
Along with the steaming machinery
Really puts you into the zone of how these works in Pakistan itself

Rank #5

"BeeVision"

Using ultraviolet light to make otherwise invisible patterns visible
(what only some insects can see eg. bees and butterflies)

Quoted from the photographer himself/herself

Ok, that is damn awesome
Never hear before of such thing until I saw this photo

Rank #6

"The Entrance II"

It's the lighting and shadows
Just cant put my words on it
But the centre, something is drawing my eyes there
And I really cant phantom why....

Rank #8

"Under The Bridge"

It's not the bridge only
Check out the purple sky
Then after that bring the eyes to the bridge lighting
Cool~!

Rank #9

I dont think this can be done in Singapore
And seriously, makes me wanna work as a National Geographic photographer all the more

Being paid to do a job that actually interests and excites you
Plus it's doing what you like
And you get to travel and see the world
Opening up your eyes to what is more than our sunny island itself

Rank #10

"Night Time at the Arboretum"

Taken at Washington, USA

The forest at the sides is really intriguing
And the silverish-grey sky is nice
Along with the man-made structure
Great landscape photo!

Anyways
These are only some of the photos I managed to show
The rest are up on the website itself
Number #3 is a photo taken by a Singaporean
Student in NTU if I'm not wrong
He's good
Like seriously good
Yup, do go take a look
:)
