World Cup Fever

"Losers live in the past.
Winners learn from the past and enjoy working
in the present towards the future."

Denis Waitley

7 reasons why England wont win World Cup 2010
After the 23-man squad is announced yesterday

1) England needs Gareth Barry

Once again, England is anxiously awaiting news of yet
another injured international
Rewind to Euro '04 and everyone was waiting to see if
Rooney could turn out good
Well, we all know what happened when England got knocked
out by Portugal...

2) Mediocre striking pairing (and fellow strikers)

You put Heskey and Rooney together
One to knock down balls for the other to try to strike it
Well if Capello never notice, Rooney is getting to the box a lot
during this season
So if Rooney is marked out by other good defenders
Then who would Heskey knocked down the ball to?

Turn to the substitutes bench
And you have......Crouch......and......Defore?
Yet another Tall and Short pairing
No Plan B, still the same as the Sven and Mclaren era
What's the diff?

Look at Spain, Torres and Villa!
Argentina has Messi, Tevez, Aguerro, Angel Di Maria
Portugal has.....oh well Ronaldo
Holland is blessed....provided they dont self destruct
Please start shaking in your boots now ppl

3) David Beckham is not playing in his 4th ever
record-breaking World Cup

Been watching England matches every now and then
Cuz they are the only one Singapore likes to air
Due to the large EPL followers here

When David Beckham is not playing
England have weird ppl scoring
Meaning they depend on individual brilliance at times

When Beckham is playing
Straight forward
Pass to right flank
Everyone camp in the box
Waiting to press the Button Circle on the Playstation controller
Awaits the cross from David Beckham
Yet again no Plan B

4) Penalties nightmare

Lampard has missed 2 consecutive penalties already
When is enough enough?
Put the striker to hit the penalty for god's sake
Steven Gerrard is well known for his international penalties misses
And yes, they lost on penalties for the last 2 major tournaments

5) The Gerrard and Lampard midfield axis

The reason why Michael Carrick is still on the plane to South Africa this weekend
Is a simple reason that Capello knows the
Gerrard and Lampard axis may not work
But Carrick is playing so badly nowadays that sometimes you dont see
him on the bench while at Manchester United this season
Too sloppy, too slow, too cautious, not enough fire in his belly

Gerrard and Lampard are not disciplined enough to stay
back and protect the back 4
And Ferdinand and Terry can only do so much to protect themselves
With Glen Johnson and Ashley Cole overlapping much too often
Too much exposure to counter attacks

And guess what, they didnt bring Scott Parker to South Africa
Next to Gareth Barry, he is the next man to have a bite in his tackles
Well, West Ham survived the drop this season due to him
being the Superman
He has the ability and most importantly, the discipline
Every team needs a player to do the dirty job
Not everyone is the most glamorous players who score the goals,
do the crossovers, send in the crosses or what
Every team needs a guard dog to break up and break down
attacks and their tempo

I personally dont think Gerrard or Lampard can do that
Cuz they will be under-utilized then

Looks at Owen Hargreaves....*shakes head*
He WILL be the solution....and he is the best at that position
But 18 months and only kick 60 seconds of football this season.....
Haiz

6) England dont have game-changing players

All their game-changing players are on the pitch
When everyone is tired, who can Capello sub?

Scroll up at Theo Walcott

He is poor, he has no form, he has no football brain
You name it, the papers wrote it

But 1 think you forget
With Joe Cole the closest to conjuring magic
Minus Rooney who will always work hard for the team
And no " Mr-Just-Press-Circle-Button " to take the golden free-kick
and bend it pass the wall
You just didnt bring the lightning winger there
Mistake mistake

When everyone is exhausted
The only way to go is fresh legs
Pump the defence and stretch them with wing play
The faster the better
And now......Shaun Wright Philips is good, but not so fast
You need a brainless FAST winger sometimes
Seriously.....

7) The WAGs

LOL! The New Paper is pro-English
Dont bother too much over the over-exposure on the England team

All 7 good reasons to look at England downfall

Prediction: Quarter-finalists (again!)
Knock out by their inability to score
Or more commonly, their penalties woes

Man to watch out for: Wayne Rooney
He is a team player
Works hard runs hards plays hard
He is what sports is all about
No bias opinions, but you see it to believe it
(Support Manchester United!!!)

Oh well, my team based on bias opinions: Italy
Now the odds is 1:14
I'm gonna bet $10 bucks and hope they go ALL THE WAY!
$130 profits for $10 bucks!

Why Italy you ask?
Cuz me Shu Yin, Si Xiang, Jason all would say the same thing
Italy would play so defensively we would consider parking a bus out there
Then score a sucker punch at the 75min
Then continue closing shop
If 70min never score
We pass pass pass to the penalty box
And all of us shout the same thing:

"DIVE DIVE DIVE!!!"

Who cares how we win?
=D

Italy is the 2006 holders ok?!

Next bet should be on Holland this time
1:9.5
$85 bucks profit, not bad

I'm gonna believe the Kobe theory
Spain is gonna kelong this World Cup
So not gonna place my bet on them

Oh well, 9 days to the World Cup itself
Cant wait!

Things in life have a certain way of sorting themselves out. '
Winning is just an illusion.
Once you won something, you surely lost another thing as well.
It's the will and the passion that count.
